from February Moon Haiku, 2014
Snow crunch underfoot;
Big hound sniffs yellow patches.
Moon is nearly full.
Leash is always taut.
Dog sports twice the legs than I;
I just can’t keep up.
Moonlit bike downtown.
Cold beer at warm pub, with Pete.
Cold fog chills me; home.
Moonlight glints from skis.
Shadows cast on frozen tracks,
Blue snow blankets ground.
