My favourite photograph from my recent cycling adventure in the Carolinas. And it was completely accidental. I had been riding through the idyllic Dark Ridge Creek valley, near Sylva, stopping frequently to shot a scene while my crew continued relentlessly on along the serpentine road. Each time I was forced to stand on the pedals and put the hammer down while stuffing my camera (phone) back into my jersey’s back pocket. One of those times, I inadvertently triggered the camera, capturing this abstract image of the back of my two-wheeler. The image seems to capture the frantic speed I needed to catch up with the group ahead of me. Some of the best things in life are unplanned.
