Stormy Black and White Photography by Mitch Dobrowner

You should absolutely do yourself a favor and check out the stunningly beautiful landscape photography of Mitch Dobrowner. If you’re a fan of Ansel Adams, Dobrowner’s photography will be right up your alley, as Dobrowner draws from the inspiration of Adams in his own work, which is very apparent. His work primarily focuses on the West and Midwest, showcasing the beauty of the landscape of that part of the country, as well as the threateningly gloomy and perilous nature of the weather that can quickly escalate to levels of destructive force.

As I recently traveled to the area of the country that Dobrowner primarily focuses on with much of his work, seeing his photography immediately brought me back to my travels. The landscapes of Wyoming, North and South Dakota, are truly breathtaking, flat, and dramatic, but it’s amazing how quickly changes in weather can occur; I love that Dobrowner’s work is a reminder of the beauty of this area, but accompanies it with the reality that many residents in that part of America know all too well.
