Two Wheels To Nowhere

Our local friend, Brett Fisher, was kind enough to not only recommend our first route but also to arrange a few members of the Downtown Asheville Racing Club to join us today to help show us around as well as provide some great support for a day full of mechanical issues (mostly punctures). Brett’s wife, Kim, was generous in driving out to get one of us whose broken bike would take him no further. We are fortunate to have friends like this in our vacation locale. The countryside here is magnificent! Emerald rolling hills, winding rivers in the valleys and cloudless blue skies offered us a ride that made us soon forget the cold and damp routes we left in Ontario. Tomorrow we’ll venture onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to greater elevations and greater views of the magnificent mountains in North Carolina.
