Old Highway 70 was deserted decades ago for a new, wider, faster, more direct motor route around Black Mountain. Now it is called the Greenway, closed to motor traffic. It offers us a unique experience to ride up the numerous switchbacks, past the railway to the overlook where we see the endless emerald growth from the point where we stand to as far as the eye can see. After climbing to the top we drop like a roller-coaster back the parking lot in the town of Old Fork where we eat barbecue and listen to live blue grass with our two new local friends Andrew and Richard, as well as Brett. Another sweet ride in North Carolina.
