With a reprieve from the frigid Arctic air that has gripped us the last week Nick, Dano and I got out to enjoy the Copeland Forest today. A very peaceful walk and ski through the snowy woods was the right medicine for all three of us. We went off trail for a while following Dano who had his head down and his nose leading him through deer tracks in the virgin snow. There, we also saw rabbit and mouse tracks before reaching the beaver pond in the middle of the forest. Not a snowmobile in sight (or heard)! What a glorious piece of land preserved for wildlife to thrive and for people to enjoy while getting away from the hustle of the City.
