I ran some errands on my two-wheeler today despite the 35c heat. Lots of people cooling off at the Beach. Promenade on Dunlop Street was attracting folks looking for a deal while others enjoyed cold beers on street patios. Meridian Place Cenataph was officially dedicated yesterday with a solemn public ceremony where an urn of soil from Vimy Ridge was placed on display in rememberance of the fallen Canadians of WW1. The fireworks barge is ready and waiting on the South Shore for Canada Day celebrations and the local grocery store has fireworks for sale in the parking lot. I saw three ducks trying to stay cool in the Bear Creek Eco Park on my way to the grocery store. When I got back home, my Mom was busy baking her traditional cake for Chris’s birthday on Sunday with Rachel helping in the kitchen. Happy Canada Day long weekend!
