(almost) Winter Solstice Cruise ~ It was an absolute treat to be able to have a long ride just days before Winter truly sets in. Early cloud cover left a bucolic setting in shades of grey. As Joe and I headed back to Barrie at an easy pace, the Sun broke through the grey blanket and warmed our faces and spirits as we headed west. By the time I rolled into Allandale, the shadows pointing towards the Bay were loooong. At the end of the line, I turned around to take in the Allandale Station and was blinded by a blazing Sun. Holding my camera up and simply hoping for the best, I captured this photograph. A simple filter added after the fact helped to create the silhouetted Station and colourful sky; the Sun playing on the scattered vapour trails hanging in the still air. A glorious ride always has an end.
