~ Hairshirt North 2019 ~ The first of what I plan to make an annual tradition. Hairshirt (noun): “self-imposed punishment, suffering, sacrifice, or penance”. For cyclists, that’s a double-century or two-hundred miles in a day. I planned this “punishment” to showcase to participants, the beauty of the lakes and wetlands in Simcoe County. Thank you to those who stepped up to the challenge and joined me in this inaugural pilgrimage. What a wonderful group of fun, interesting and determined riders; I was honoured to share the day with you all!
