I’ve been feeling down lately. Walked to the Hortons at lunch to treat myself to a coffee on this cold, grey day. I was greeted with a smile by Susan behind the Tim Hortons counter. “How are you?” I asked. “Can’t complain”, she said. “There’s always someone worse off. We have to be grateful.” She said cheerfully. Wow. Thanks, Susan! That’s exactly what I needed to hear. I got so much more from this thoughtful stranger than just my warm cup of coffee. I have to be grateful. Always.
