Phantom Ship (island), Crater Lake, Oregon ~ Photographed during a 2016 cycling circumnavigation of the lake atop Mt. Mazama. My brother, Ian and I rode the scenic route around the lake with thousands of other riders and no vehicles during the Ride the Rim event. A whole day of breathtaking mountain scenery atop the volcano that blew its top about 7700 years ago forming a caldera that holds Crater Lake. Crater Lake is 1,943 feet deep, the deepest freshwater body in the US. It was a memorable day spent with my brother on two wheels to nowhere.
