a small group of six left from downtown with another rider joining us as we head north out of Barrie. it was exciting to begin this first fondo of the 2W2N series with a strong group. wonderful to see some faces for the first time in months! a couple of early punctures (and a third 20 minutes from home) slowed us down but didn’t deflate our spirits. we held a steady pace the whole way, encouraged that we’d have favourable winds in the homestretch. in Wasaga Beach we started getting a little precipitation that suddenly turned solid. luckily, the sleet didn’t last long and although we hit a couple more small sprinkles of rain, we managed to stay mostly dry as we headed back home. all in all, a solid ride and a nice way to start the season!
