the last few weeks of increasing darkness keep me looking for bright spots in the day to pick me up. I frequently see the ordinary in new and interesting ways, often as if for the first time, through my grandkids eyes. more time indoors with family makes Christmas prep a little more joyous for us all. my outdoor activities are now dominated by walks to and from work in the dark and daily walks with the hound through the ‘hood and local forest. I look forward to the days getting longer now, post Solstice, and an extended break over the holidays during which I will indulge in some rest and relaxation and small visits with various family members and close friends, gradually ramping up to the beginning of a new year. what will it bring? only time will tell!
