long after the colourful foliage of Fall has dropped from the branches that continue to reach for the grey Winter skies, I can’t help but look up in wonder. I marvel at the stark dendritic patterns that are silhouetted against the dark Winter sky above. often, these gnarly branches house a squirrel’s sanctuary high above the snowy ground in our neighbourhood, or carefully cradle a full Moon that illuminates my Winter walks with Artie. although grey and dark right now, I am encouraged by the promise that before too long, the leaves will Spring forth from these branches to cast a cool shade on the streets below, ushering in the Summer season during which these branches will continue their journey towards the blue sky above
