Wasaga Won Hundred :: 2025

the forecast for the fourth annual April fondo ride was looking pretty grim during the week leading up to it. late March and early April were mostly cold and a little wet and I really needed a pick-me-up; I was hopeful this ride would help me shake the blues. a pleasant surprise that Paul made the trip from Haliburton to join the party; he was getting some miles into his legs before his annual excursion south to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

well, it was wet at the start for the six of us but luckily things began to dry up as the wind picked up 🙃. in spite of the unfavourable weather and grey sky, this small but strong crew headed northward where we were joined by Brien and Jeff, our buddies from Wyevale, making our group eight strong.

outside of Wasaga a puncture was actually a welcome rest as Rory fixed his flat. we pushed on without a stop in Wasaga Beach as I think most of us just wanted to get home at this point.

the original six riders rolled back into Barrie on dry roads making time for a  “finished” group shot at Meridian Place, where the day began
