The Spring heat is elusive however the Sunny, longer days are an undeniable sign of Spring this weekend. Despite the biting North wind, we got out on a few walks and even a bike ride before the Sun set on Saturday. The clocks arbitrarily jumping forward this morning will mess with my Circadian rhythm for…

Re-tired ~ New rubber on the old Marinoni. I figure as long as you can see those little rubber bits sticking up from the tread, it’s a new tire. When they’re gone, it’s just a tire. When you see threads, it’s an old tire. Then it’s time to re-tire.

Some random February Fotos ~ Doing whatever it takes to get through these last few weeks of the deep Winter weather. I rode my bike today for the first time this month, so Spring must be close, right?

“The future is unwritten.” ~ Joe Strummer A statement so simple, it almost seems ridiculous. However, it reflects pragmatism, forward-thinking, a little stoicism and most importantly, *hope*. All this from the disillusioned punk who sang, “Cold water in the face; Brings you back to this awful place” Write yourself a wonderful 2021.

Each year, from late Winter onward, I spending countless hours riding a bicycle around the countryside and each time, as I finish a ride, I am already plotting out my next two-wheeled adventure. By September, I am starting to grow a little weary of the bike and by late Fall it is a time for…

redarts: ~4 December 1980~ “We wish it to be known that the loss of our dear friend and the deep respect we have for his family, together with the sense of undivided harmony felt by ourselves and our manager, have led us to decide that we could not continue as we were.” ~ Led Zeppelin…

Michael Collins’ (Apollo 11 astronaut) thoughts while reflecting on his view of a fragile and very finite Earth from his lunar orbit in July 1969. Our economic model of infinite growth with finite resources is not sustainable. What will give first?

Mikayla means “who is like God?” (from Hebrew “Mikha’el/מִיכָאֵל” or “mikha/מִיכָ” = who is like + “el/אֵל” = God). To us she means new life, a growing family and the spawning of the next generation. It is an incredibly special feeling to see your baby raising a child of their own! Mikayla is such a…

Only a few of these weekly Sunrise Rides left this season as the Sun sleeps a little longer each day leaving the mornings cooler, bathing the Bay in an simmering twilight that the Early Risers welcome on their boats, wheels, soles (and souls). Enjoy it while it’s here. Keep moving.
