moving on the water, silently slicing the surface under your own power is so exhilarating. without the noise and smell of a motor attached to your boat, the natural surroundings can be enjoyed to their fullest. many of the local rivers, creeks and swamps are teeming with wildlife, above and below the shimmering surface. we need not go far off the busy main channels to find the quiet corners where the serene surroundings begin. the call of various waterfowl, bullfrogs, cicadas, and splashing beavers and otters are a natural melody played against the quiet backdrop, provided only by distance from roads, houses and engines. places that can only reached with small human powered watercraft that takes us out of earshot of the daily bustle of modern life.
