Blue Marinoni ~ by Eric van Wesenbeeck

A simple machine, on two wheels I ride.
Toothed and chained, one hundred years unchanged.
An engine alive, infinitely complex;
Fine tuned and perfected over millions of years.
Efficient and elegant like no human design.
Gentle breeze, howling in my ears; while tires hum a tireless tune.
Blood pumping to my laboured heart’s demand;
Fueled by a meal, hearty and grand.
Gratitude for the solitude;
From city street to country lane, alone.
Racing to catch up with my hurried thoughts.
Through fiery tunnels I race;
Soon to be extinguished by winter’s white blanket.
As the autumn sun casts its long shadow;
My wheels seems to find their way home. Again.
A comforting rest to relax and refuel.
Tomorrow another ride brings.

  1. That poem is amazing Eric. Much better than anything AI could write!

    1. Thanks, Scott. I’m glad you enjoyed it! I cobbled those verses together while riding solo. Not much for rhyming but fun to create, nonetheless. Thanks for the feedback.
      AI generated haiku poetry can be used pretty good. I’ve experimented with that a little. AI will improve with time, no doubt but I don’t know if it’ll ever achieve the creative spark of human thought.
