in the span of three days this week, we’ve had two friends lose their parents, one of them losing her Mom and Dad with hours of each other. I guess we’re at that age when deaths and celebrations of life become increasingly frequent. a sad but real part of life is the Sunset of loved ones we inevitably will face.
it is in these moments when the importance of friends and family is clarified and we recognize how lucky we are to have each other to support us through the grief, and how fortunate we are to have the prospect of another Sunrise in our future.
I couldn’t help but notice a metaphor in the Autumn shadows on the road as I biked home from a celebration of life today.
the road paint seeing its shadow in the Autumn’s setting Sun, signifies another six months until road bike season begins again. with every loss there is hope for a warmer and brighter future ahead
