With this bicycle, you don’t need to pack food in your pockets for long rides. Just eat the bike and run home. Hmm, maybe a new form of triathlon?

Rae Bakes Em. I Eat Em. ~ A good long run around town works up a great appetite! Rachel’s Montreal style bagels fill the bottomless pit. What a talented daughter. It was serendipitous running into my little sister, Sylvia, at Heritage Park! Good company for half an hour as I ran her home. I explored…

A sudden blast of winter last night left in its wake a blustery deep freeze and some sunny winter vistas on my walk to work this morning. It feels like winter is no longer just around the corner, even though it is.

The Allandale GO train station tunnel offers me a short four minute route from home to the Kempenfelt lakefront park. Interesting dusk looking west down Lakeshore Drive. The bike path provides an easy passage around the Bay to downtown as I enjoy the reflections on the placid waters.

It’s tought saying goodbye to little companions like Bella. She became part of the family after eight years. It’s remarkable the connection that develops when we spend each day together for years on end. We add a lot to each other’s lives just by simply being together and caring for each other. Man’s best friend.…

Algonquin Gate to Gate to Gate. Blue skies, little wind and strong riders as good company. A nice way to see the Park. What an incredible resource. Our tax dollar hard at work. Only thing that could’ve made it better was if we’d have done it on a week day with much less traffic. Almost…

*** Putting our Money where our Mouth is *** Itβs staggering to think there are over 730 million undernourished people in the world while at the same time there are more than double that number of people overweight. A good ending to a work week of exceptionally long stretches of ass-sitting as we chose to drive to a meeting in Pittsburgh instead of flying. The view West just after sunset at the corner of Tiffin and Lakeshore while biking home from Johnson’s Beach. A serendipitous snap with a sweat-fogged phone camera produced an unusually interesting photograph. Robbie probably did a variety of magical mind altering drugs back in the 60s and 70s that maybe left him a little messed up, not sure. I’ll know better when I actually read the book. The headphones are exactly where I dropped them on my night table at 3am, in the dark. I’m not shitting…

Nick is twenty-three today. I don’t feel old enough to have a 23 year old son, however… We enjoyed a paddle on Willow Creek in the beautiful September sunshine. A very nice change of pace from endlessly two-wheeling around the countryside in circles. We saw a painted turtle, three majestic blue herons and several fish.…

This makes me feel like a powerful dude more than riding through the countryside wearing a Lycra suit. But I still prefer riding… that said, this wood splitting session was a really serious workout! Makes me appreciate how the early settlers had to do it before steam powered machines lightened the load. Somehow, the tired…
